About Us

Welcome to the Cleveland Chapter of the CPCU Society!

President’s Corner

Hello Fellow CPCUs. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Katie Rademacher and I have the honor of serving as the Cleveland CPCU Chapter President for 2025. I’m excited for what lies ahead in 2025 for our chapter. The goal of myself and the rest of the board is to provide opportunities for professional growth for our CPCU members, as well as others who are interested in the insurance world. Our planning for 2025 includes educational sessions, volunteering and networking opportunities.

My insurance journey began in 2011 when I started at Westfield in their Graduate Development Program. This introduction to the insurance world included earning my AINS designation from The Institutes as I learned the ins and outs of insurance, before moving to an underwriting desk. For 2 years I served as an underwriter in the Middle Market space at Westfield before having an opportunity to work at The Hartford, which exposed me to different business segments and new business writings. A return to Westfield with a focus on underwriting for the Construction space came about in April 2016, at which point I seriously buckled down for my CPCU studies, resulting in earning my CPCU designation in June 2019. In 2022 I moved into my current role as Commercial Lines Senior Consulting Underwriter – Construction Industry Sector Manager. My duties include providing consultative and referral support to front line underwriters for commercial accounts, manage the construction risk appetite and underwriting guidelines for our profitable construction book, and serve as an educational resource within the company. My role requires continuous learning and professional development which are both characteristics required of a CPCU.

I joined the Cleveland Chapter Board in 2020…just as COVID changed the world. As we’ve navigated the changes COVID wrought, what makes a successful chapter and meaningful membership has evolved as well. We’ve navigated moving to a totally virtual environment, to a hybrid mix, to a 2025 plan where we have both online and in-person events planned. Our “Meetings & Events” Session is up to date with already scheduled upcoming events, with more being added to fill out 2025. We want to ensure that our members are getting true value from membership and we are open to suggestions and ideas on how to serve the CPCU community. If you have suggestions on what we can look to offer please don’t hesitate to reach out to myself or one of the other board members.

As I said above, I am excited for what 2025 will bring and am looking forward to serving all the members of this chapter. Let us help you pursue and achieve your goals.
